Milan, Rome and Naples will be the three leading cities of all the experimentation

Milan, Rome and Naples have in fact been selected as the lead cities of the trial.

The three metropolises, belonging to northern, central and southern Italy, will be testing laboratories for MaaS services, an acronym for "Mobility as a Service", to test the introduction of digital platforms for sustainable mobility and respond to the needs of individual territories.

Financial support is also foreseen for local public transport operators of the selected cities in the digitization of systems and services.

In the Città della Madonnina a Living Lab with users for the mobility sector

In addition to the selection for the experimentation of MaaS services, the city of Milan was also chosen to create a Living Lab, an urban laboratory where to experiment, in real conditions, innovations and emerging technologies in the sector of mobility sectors, in co-creation with users.

Furthermore, the FS-FS Italian group is among the 33 operators of railway company and infrastructure managers to have signed the new one railway agreement European.

The pact commits the main players of the railway sector from all over Europe to achieve a common goal: to make the railways the continent's most attractive, sustainable, innovative and inclusive.

European railways are developing a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to 30 per cent trains by 2030 and compared to 2015, they are committing to increase energy efficiency by 25 percent to achieve their carbon neutrality goals by 2050.

The important challenge is in the implementation of technology and digital for railways.

Currently, funds are needed to invest heavily in the modernization of railway networks, to increase their capacity and interoperability and to support operators in modernizing their rolling stock.
