In Technopole of the capital of Emilia-Romagna a national and continental hub is being born on new technologies, Big Data, climatology e human development which develops over time 120.000 square meters of surface area of ​​the former Tobacco Factory of the city, designed and built in the 50 years da Pier Luigi Nervi: i have already been installed within them first supercomputers, a circumstance that makes it worthwhile to take a look inside the very large sheds di Via Piero Gobetti.

The spaces are in fact reinterpreted to host supercomputing infrastructure di international relevance, as the foretold ECMWF extension also with offices in Bonn e Reading, or the big one European computer “Leonardo”: all activities are at the forefront in the field of research and development, common areas for incubators and the seat of some important scientific institutes as well as Italian research centres.

The ongoing interventions in the area of ​​approx 120.000 square meters are divided between six lots.
For their realization, they are currently allocated over 220 million euro (125 million of state funds; 90 million of regional resources; 7 million of European funds).
