"ated4special in the Metaverse" is the project of the Ticino Digital Evolution Association (ATED) aimed at creating a virtual village in the Metaverse to help autistic children deal with everyday life situations

Following the evening event on Saturday 1 April and the morning workshop at SUPSI on 2 April 2023, theTicino Digital Evolution Association it subsequently defined the first paths on which the funds raised will be invested and the associations to which the digital devices will be destined as part of the ated4special initiative, but that is not all.

The aid to children with autism by the association directed by Cristina Giotta Boggia will not only concern the real world, but will be extended to the vast sphere of virtuality that new digital technologies enable today's society.

Luca Mauriello, Vice President of ATED and creator of ated4special, explains it: “It is no coincidence that on Sunday 2 April, during the 'World Autism Awareness Day', established by the UN General Assembly, in Lugano we hosted professionals of international standing and reference figures in our area, to identify methods and innovative approaches in assisting families when a hypothesis of autism spectrum disorder is established.

“Now, also thanks to the participation of families, very numerous in the workshops of the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland, and of professionals who, like us, believe in the opportunities that technology can reserve for us in helping autistic people, we will use the funds raised to create a unique project of its kind, 'ated4special in the Metaverse'…”.

And yet: “Let's talk about designing a virtual village in Metaverse to help autistic kids deal with everyday life situations. For example: crossing a street and going to catch a bus, washing, going to the dentist or hygienist, shopping at the supermarket. It is about making accessible a safe virtual platform that teaches social, behavioral, communication and common life".
