Gabriele Ferrieri: "Available for the economic and social revitalization of the country"

This was confirmed by the President of ANGI, Gabriele Ferrieri: “Our numbers were truly immense: over 250 unique users, between presence and remote connection, attended the first edition of the 'Metafestival' in Italy. Having hosted in our event the major voices of the innovation ecosystem and of the European, national and territorial institutional stakeholders of Piedmont demonstrate even more the central role of the National Association of Young Innovators as a point of reference on digital”.
“We are really proud of the path we are pursuing and, thanks to the development and constant growth of the community of young Italian innovators, we want to experience the challenges for the economic and social relaunch of the country as protagonists, placing ourselves at the disposal of the institutions to continue the path value and planning that, with perseverance and dedication, our partnership has been carrying on since 2017".
And yet: “Our appeal is for the continuation of digital policies both with a view to implementing the PNRR and supporting future generations, the only and true cornerstone on which to lay a solid foundation for the relaunch of the Belpaese. From now until the end of the year, there will be numerous appointments scheduled which will culminate, on December XNUMXst, with the ANGi Innovation Oscar Award in Rome in the marvelous setting of the Ara Pacis”.

Thanks to the technical partnership with Coderblock there is now an unreleased… “Meta ANGI”

Furthermore, the partnership chaired by Gabriele Ferrieri, thanks to the technical partnership with Coderblock, can now show off its own Metaverse.
This new virtual reality is undoubtedly an opportunity to build a bridge and enhance immersive reality in support of all the excellences of innovation and Made in Italy.
Also present at the Festival were Matteo Marnati, the Councilor for the Environment, Energy, Innovation, Research of the Piedmont Region, Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of the Municipality of Turin, Letizia Maria Ferraris, President of the CSI Piedmont, testifying to the proximity of the subalpine capital on the themes orbiting the new immersive universe.

Matteo Marnati: "Piedmont is the first Italian regional body in virtual reality"

“Piedmont is the first Region in Italy that lands in the Metaverse. A decision that we have matured, together with the CSI, starting from the assumption that a Public Administration must integrate with innovation, not only stay 'with the times' but, if possible, anticipate them and build something in virtual reality, and the world of the Metaverse has had a strong acceleration in recent times especially among young people, also to provide services to citizens and businesses. However, we have decided to start from the 'social theme' because it is our job to deal with fragility", says Matteo Marnati, Regional Councilor for Innovation.
"From this consideration, in August, we started building 'our' Metaverse, which reproduces our new headquarters, the skyscraper, which is being inaugurated and, as a first project, we will deal with cyberbullying, a phenomenon that affects many young people today, in collaboration with the Order of Psychologists of Turin. We want to experience the new frontier of psychology, something that we are sure will become a great opportunity in the coming years. At the same time we will also develop services for citizens and businesses, all with the guarantee of maximum security".

Pietro Pacini: “Technology can really change our way of life…”

“For years the CSI and the Piedmont Region have been working in a multi-channel logic in the provision of their services to citizens. I believe that the Metaverse could become another channel for people to use digital public services in a completely new way. It is a journey that we are starting now with some experiments that will gradually be refined over time, accompanied by the digital transformation activities already underway, such as the increasingly massive integration of services, even more advanced digital identity, IT security , the cloud. For all of us it is a great challenge because the Metaverse can really change the way we live, work or relate to the Public Administration", is the comment of Pietro Pacini, Director General of CSI Piedmont.
"The Metaverse opens up to new territories with still unexplored potential and, precisely for this reason, it is now essential to promote a culture of openness and collaboration to trace trajectories together in the name of technology, cybersecurity and sustainability", said Massimo Lapucci, CEO of OGR Turin.
“It is with this in mind that the OGRs, a natural place of synergies and hybridizations, welcome the Metaverse Festival, as Innovation & Networking Partner, with the aim of spreading knowledge and encouraging debate starting with the various projects and initiatives on the Metaverses who have found a home here at OGR Tech”.

Antonio Parenti: "The European Union is ready for this new digital agora"

Space also for Italian government institutions and agencies who have confirmed that the Metaverse represents proof of the current epochal change in Europe and in the world.
“The Metaverse is in Europe one of the urgent challenges that await us. We have to imagine it as something similar to what the agora was for the ancient Greeks: a new public square, a new space where digital interactions, already possible online, are amplified as never before. Faced with this extraordinary innovation, the European approach to the virtual world will develop on three fields: people, technologies and infrastructures”, explained Antonio Parenti, Head of the European Commission Representation in Italy.
“Europe already has strong, future-proof regulatory tools, such as the Digital Service Act and the Digital Markets Act, whose goal is precisely to master and develop cutting-edge technologies so as to build a sustainable ecosystem. In fact, the European Commission, just a few weeks ago, launched the 'Virtual and Augmented Reality Industrial Coalition', which brings together the stakeholders of the main metaverse technologies with over forty European organizations active in this sector. I am sure that ANGI, thanks to its tireless President Gabriele Ferrieri, will always be a great protagonist thanks to its impulse promotion activities, in particular towards the new generations".

Guido Scorza: "Towards a world of rules written by the legal offices of Big Tech?"

“The reflection proposed by the ANGI festival leads to considerations from which none of us can escape. In the Metaverse we will be representative abstractions of our personal identity, immersed in an entirely private system in which we will be able to act, speak, sell and buy intangible objects and life experiences within the limits and with the modalities established in the terms of use that we will accept. It is no small thing, in fact there is an entire system of rights and freedoms that risks ending up being overwritten, not only by private law rules, but by the legal offices of Big Tech rather than by our Parliaments", is the comment of the lawyer Guido Scorza, Member of the Board of the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data.
“These are rules inoculated into the code and algorithms of the metaservices that we will use to live within this new immersive reality. This is precisely the greatest of the challenges that awaits us, namely governing the relationship between public and private powers within a universe that promises to be much more like a huge private garden than a public agora”.
And yet: “If we ever lose that challenge, the Metaverse could be the swan lake of our democracies being quietly transformed into bargaining dictatorships ruled by commercial corporations. For this reason it is essential to guide and govern this new digital world in the best possible way in order to direct it in a direction that allows it to maximize opportunities and benefits in the most shared way possible for the citizens of the world so as to minimize the risks that are naturally present like any process of innovation".

Under 35 and Over 55 seem, in the "virtual reality", even more distant from each other

Furthermore, at the ANGI event, an exclusive national preview was presented of the opinion poll "Youth and innovation in the Metaverse scenario", by Professor Roberto Baldassari, General Manager of Lab21.01 and Director of the Scientific Committee of the National Association Young Innovators.
In fact, after the vote of 25 September 2022, the research and survey institute Lab21.01 carried out research by interviewing a sample of Italian adults through 1.200 interviews (telephone and via the Web) to analyze the relationship between the Italians and the Metaverse with particular attention to the nexus between young people, innovation and the new changing scenario of the Metaverse.
“The overall look of the research highlights how there are strong generational differences between the interviewees: Under 35 and Over 55 seem even more distant in the Metaverse. If on the one hand curiosity about the virtual 'non-place' grows, on the other a space still appears where there are no clear rules and often the end user could find himself at the mercy of the socio-psychological effects deriving from an 'immersion' still too fragile and not very structured”.

"In general, the relationship between young people, innovation, technical tools and interpersonal relationships is good"

“The relationship between young people, innovation, technological tools and interpersonal relationships is good, even if the danger of another container with low added value in terms of content remains on the horizon, albeit vague. The attention and investments of large Italian and international companies could contribute in a strong and positive way to making a still blurred scenario increasingly proactive, technologically advanced and, paradoxically, tainted with reality".
The Piedmontese capital was therefore the stage for an event that saw the interventions of the top players in the current technological ecosystem who, through keynote speeches, inspirational round tables and networking moments, were able to share their personal, but above all professional, experiences , in order to find effective solutions in the technological field and offer new opportunities to young talents.
