There is an entity in Lugano which, before others and much better than others, has taken on the task of organizing quality events, conferences and exhibitions on subjects of public interest, extending its range of action from the Canton of Ticino to the rest of the Switzerland, and from the latter to a much wider and international proscenium, in the fintech field, but not only.
FinLantern is the result of an initiative by Riccardo Esposito, born in 1969, born and educated in the city of Genoa, where he graduated in Economics and Commerce, later embarking on an important career as an equity financial analyst for some of the major investment banks European countries, before a decisive paradigm shift starting from 2009, on a personal level and not, precisely with the foundation and launch of FinLantern, whose logo recalls the oldest lighthouse in the world still in operation (the "Lantern"), symbol of the capital of Liguria since 1543.

The latter is a rapidly growing international network, with a database of over 120.000 financial professionals (analysts, economists, portfolio managers, corporate finance consultants, traders…) from all over the world and gradually engaged over almost three decades of activity. The network aims to support the activities of its members and to increase their visibility in the global financial arena, but not only, as shown by the Nimeetz platform: a decidedly innovative information marketplace on asset management. FinLantern has rapidly achieved a leadership position in organizing happenings in the financial sector, in particular thanks to a specific database of 50.000 finance professionals based in Switzerland and Italy. Through a network of partners, FinLantern organizes road-shows, fairs, presentations, seminars and courses in Lugano, Geneva, Zurich, Milan, Paris, Montecarlo, Monaco, Frankfurt, London, New York and so on, but there is one “ breaking news” of which Riccardo Esposito is particularly proud.
Let's talk about the "MetaForum Lugano", scheduled for Monday 13 June 2022 over the distance of an entire day in the refined environments of the LAC Lugano Arte Cultura: a long happening, from 9:30 in the morning to the VIP Dinner & Charity Auction scheduled for 20 pm, focused on new technological trends that will have an impact on the daily life of each of us: DeFi, smart contracts, play-to-earn, NFT, but also the more "traditional" Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain and Gamification.

Riccardo Esposito, you are organizing the first edition of the “MetaForum” event in Lugano: why this choice?
“It can be said that we were pioneers in this sector, having organized one of the first ever conferences in Switzerland on Bitcoin in 2014. Since then we have always paid close attention to this new sector, foreseeing its growth and the great impact it would have in the financial world, and inserting, in all our events, dedicated areas and specific conferences. The 'Blockchain session' of the last 'Lugano Finance Forum', organized on 16 November 2021, was so successful that we were able to organize an event entirely dedicated to these topics".

“Music City” will be the first metaverse for the musical field

Founded by Riccardo Esposito in 2009, through a network of partners and relationships, FinLantern organizes road-shows, fairs, presentations, seminars and courses not only "at home" in Lugano, but also in locations such as Geneva, Zurich, Milan, Paris , Montecarlo, Monaco, Frankfurt, London, New York and so on

Who is it for and what can one expect from the “MetaForum”?
“The main objective of FinLantern is to encourage the creation of business opportunities: this is what all our partners expect from us, who have been renewing their trust in us for years. The event represents the ideal tool to create a useful context for this purpose and contribute, especially in this case, to 'education' on specific topics”.

What topics will be covered during the forum?
“There will be many topics that will be addressed by our speakers: from DeFi, with speeches by speakers from Wirex, Seba Bank, 21Sahres, Binance, to the Metaverse and NFTs, the last frontier of art: we will talk about it with some artists and if they will also show its potential as an investment asset. There will be speeches on gaming, on the introduction of Blockchain technology in all sectors, for example lifestyle, and also on the evolution of communication in this 'Web 3.0' world…”.

Will the MetaForum Lugano also be “virtual”?
“Yes, all lectures will be available for streaming (for a fee) and will be viewable in The Nemesis Metaverse.”

What could be the highlights of the event?
“We have carefully chosen both the themes and the speakers: for us, they are all strong points of the event. Another interesting element will be the NFT exhibition: on all floors of the LAC it will be possible to see the works of around twenty artists, many of whom will also be present at the Forum. Finally, 'MetaForum' is the first forum organized in Lugano, following the announcement of the city's 'Plan B'”.

Off to “Plan B” and to Lugano, the Blockchain capital of Europe

Why did you decide to organize this event in Lugano?
“First of all because we are from Ticino. We deeply believe in the potential and attractiveness of Lugano, a city that lies exactly halfway between Zurich and Milan, two very active centers in the financial field and attentive to all the new mega trends. Furthermore, as mentioned before, Lugano has just launched its 'Plan B', a very ambitious project that aims to make the most populous locality in Ticino an international hub for all Blockchain realities, an incubator for start-ups that can count on and aid made available by the city. Therefore, it seemed inevitable to think of our 'MetaForum' here in Lugano”.

How much do you know about “blockchain and crypto” topics? Are you also actively involved in it?
“Cryptocurrencies and blockchain are topics that we have been following for years, and we are also thinking about our own, internal projects that provide for the issuance of tokens”.

What are the topics and areas that seem most interesting to you right now, and why?
“I consider Blockchain a 'revolution', just as the Internet was over twenty years ago. And like the Web, the Blockchain will also have an impact on the daily life of all of us. This will also be explained very well by some industrial realities (in particular in the fashion, food and tech areas) who at the forum will take stock of the situation on the adoption and prospects of this new technology in their sector”.

Do you see there could already be exchanges of know-how between Lugano and other cities?
"Lugano's 'Plan B' is seen as a pilot project and will be monitored by many other municipalities, which could draw on the know-how gained here to adopt or implement similar programmes".

Are you thinking of organizing the "MetaForum" in other locations in the future?
“I don't rule it out at all”.
