It is possible to coordinate innovation and economic-environmental development thanks to the potential offered by Blockchain e digitization, adapting them to the new sensitivity of global public opinion in terms of available resources and priorities in their use and administration according to ESG (Ecological, Social and Governance)?
The answer is positive, thanks to the digitization and to Blockchain, the world register of accessible digital assets freely and continuously.
But it is important that these tools are coordinated by scientific teams capable of bringing the theory to become reality and directing the procedures to the actual achievement of the objectives.
In the introduction, we anticipate what we will find in the conclusions: the post-pandemic era thanks to Blockchain and ESG has innovated in collective, continuous, public responsibility, and without socio-geographical distinctions.
The academic world, today as in the past, is responsible for "scouting", i.e. identifying how-what needs to be done, and motivating its objectives.

A business story ready and evolving from academic discussions in India and Switzerland

We report a business story ready and evolving from academic discussions in India and Switzerland and become reality in two of the most important geographies globally: Asia and Europe.
At the basis of these scientific activities we find two university professors already known to the international academic community: Professor Aditya Singh and Professor Marco Casanova, of whom we point out a concrete example of their scientific activity.
Last April, announcing its membership in the Ticino Blockchain Technologies Association, the cluster of digital activities established in the Cantonal-Ticino area, Professor Singh and his colleague Casanova already announced to the media the conference “ESG meets Blockchain Summit 2023”, scheduled at the Campus Est of the Universita della Svizzera Italiana also thanks to the scientific coordination of the department Information Systems and Networking Institute of SUPSI and in particular of the Engineer James Poretti.

A successful Euro-Asian academic partnership between Marco Casanova and Aditya Singh

But what are the professional requirements of the two initiators of the Lugano conference?
Let's start with the first. Associated with the world's most prestigious academic committees, Professor Aditya Singh is director of the Athena School of Management, Mumbai, one of the main centers of economic research of the Asian sub-continental area. After the recent landing of the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft on the moon, India is imposing itself on world partners as an aerospace power, adding this primacy to its positive economic and above all demographic data which make it close to overtaking China.
In the European continent, and in particular in Switzerland, to support the research activities of Professor Singh, we find the Professor Marco Casanova.
Lecturer at the University of Bern , FHNW from Olten, is a consultant, among the best known internationally, of public and private administrations on the subject of reputational responsibilities in the context of sustainable development initiatives.
But Professor Marco Casanova is also remembered for being the son of Achille Casanova.
The latter, it should be noted, in over twenty years of career in the Swiss federal capital he was active as vice-chancellor, and later as spokesperson of the Swiss Federal Council, as well as assistant to 26 Federal Councillors, the ministers in office under Swiss law, in more than 1180 government meetings.

The happening “ESG meets Blockchain Summit 2023”, but also a center of excellence

Thanks to the personal and professional visibility and therefore also to the network of global contacts developed by these two academics, to prepare the "ESG meets Blockchain Summit 2023", right in Lugano, the financial capital of the region south of Switzerland and traditional pole of attraction for economic activities in the Mediterranean macro-area, the two teachers formed the association ESG Center of Excellence and shortly after inaugurated the 2023 edition of their conference "ESG meets Blockchain Summit", live streamed from social networks to scientific community
The Lugano meeting, in addition to registering the participation of about sixty international opinion leaders, received the contribution of prestigious partners such as the City of Lugano, the group PWC Switzerland, the Athena School of Management in Mumbai and the Ticino Blockchain Technologies Association of which we have reported, and also of the Swiss Institute for Alternative Thinking of the Professor Crenguta Leaua, a lawyer among the top 100 in the world in the field of international arbitration negotiations and since 2007 a permanent presence in the “Who's Who Legal”, the register of excellence in the legal field.
The observations you have just read justify the authority of the conclusions developed in the conference, but also the concrete perspectives that they are about to open.

AI and the Internet of Things to identify the sustainable use of natural resources

We summarize them below, trying to make the academic theories comprehensible to a public opinion that will in any case find itself living with their results.
To begin with, the Blockchain is useful in identifying and tracing thesustainable use of natural resources during the creation of the industrial value-chain of a product.
But also to inter-exchange them, to make them fungible, or to tokenize them, thanks to a vertical selection among the best suppliers managed by the Artificial intelligence, and a horizontal selection by the IoT, the internet of things, which coordinates the work of intermediaries and distributors.
Sound complicated?
Let's clarify it in simple words: these are activities up to now managed by agreements between operators, for example trade associations, and today simply innovated on a theoretical-practical level thanks to the Blockchain and ESG criteria.
Let's change perspective and examine the issue from the side of public opinion, of stakeholders.

From ESG and Blockchain issues tomorrow's consumption and voting trends

Applications based on Blockchain are able to engage consumers, helping them to track and evaluate the environmental footprint of the products they purchase, but possibly also reward their loyalty towards a sustainable product, tokenizing it, as happens today with traditional collections of points.
It is a path that is a prelude to decentralized governance, where it is the consumer's preference that influences the bottom-up sustainable management of common resources, such as water or forests, but also calls corporate managers to transparency and responsibility, indirectly warning them about their responsibilities in the climate field.
We also add that the socio-economic innovations that gravitate towards ESG and Blockchain in the near future they will translate into consumption, voting and therefore also political orientations.
In conclusion, unlike in the past, the disposable void of discriminatory, self-referential and idle choices has ended.
Today the fate of the global community is the product of our omissions and our choices.
Particularly digitization, ESG and Blockchain, are innovating the relationship between the north and south of the world, evolving it into an inevitably circular relationship, which is no longer the result of a dialogue between two distant and different worlds.
And each of us, thanks to the innovative power of ESG and Blockchain, by now he has already understood that he belongs to both.
