The largest natural logo in the world grows in Paraguay

The Swiss company Global TREE Project has created a monumental eco-sustainable work of art certified by Guinness with 100.000 trees

Global TREE Project: in Paraguay the largest logo in the world is made up of 80.000 eucalyptus trees and covers an area of 405.000 square meters
The circular sign above the TREECYCLE logo has a diameter of more or less 200 meters and is located near the city of Villarrica in Paraguay

The Swiss company Global TREE Project AG officially owns, maintains and supports the world's largest natural logo, which is also visible from space.
This was announced by the Guinness World Records jury at the beginning of November 2023.
This means that TREECYCLE is now included in the famous international book of records precisely because of the size of the most majestic emblem ever created by man through the planting of trees.
However, this world record is not to be admired in the Swiss Confederation, homeland of the promoting company, but in Paraguay, a vast country in South America.
There, the logo of the innovative and eponymous reforestation project is literally growing towards the sky according to the “TreeCycle of Life” principle.

1,1 kilometers wide, 610 meters deep and the same total surface area as approximately 60 football fields

Specifically, the logo consists of the writing TREECYCLE, which extends over a width of over 1,1 kilometers.
The circular sign above it has a diameter of more or less 200 metres.
The writing and the acronym together have a depth of 610 m.
It is made up of 80.000 eucalyptus trees and covers an area of 405.000 square metres, equivalent to approximately 60 football fields.
The natural TREECYCLE logo is integrated into an area which, together with the surrounding natural forest protection zones, covers an area of 200 hectares.

Jörg Schäfer: “We show what our job is and that the wood industry can still make sense…”

The idea for this record attempt is attributed to the founder and CEO of Global TREE Project AG, Jörg Schaefer, and date for 2021: “We show people from all over the world what we do here, that we still understand what our job is and also that the wood industry can still have a meaning and a future.”
All this also convinced Andreas Jelinek, CEO of La Rivera, a German company specializing in the forestry sector.
For Jörg Schäfer and for the entire company from Hünenberg, a small town in the Canton of Zug, it was clear from the beginning that such a monumental project could only be realized with the support of investors, but above all of forestry engineers, agricultural experts, surveyors and many employees.
Planning began in mid-2021, and only six months later did the actual preparation of the Pisadera wasteland, near the town of Villarrica, in southern Paraguay, begin.

The first tree was planted on August 22, 2022, capable of growing up to seven meters in one year in South America

The first eucalyptus tree was planted on August 22, 2022 as well as 100.000 additional shrubs over the following seven months.
Thanks to the warm climate and constant rainfall, eucalyptus trees in Paraguay grow four times faster than in Europe, up to seven meters in a year, and even more in some places.
Hybrid eucalyptus counteract climate change, offer natural protection against erosion and are resistant to pests, as well as being highly productive.

Impressive beauty from above due to three different types of eucalyptus, recognizable by as many shades of green

Three different types of eucalyptus are selected, so that the forest logo was easily recognized later.
They differ, among other things, in the color of the leaves: one variety has darker green foliage than the other.
However, if you want to see the logo in the flesh as well as on site, you have to go high, very high.
This is because the Global TREE Project emblem cannot be seen at all from the ground.
From a drone or a plane, however, this nature logo reveals its impressive dimensions and all its beauty...
