In Switzerland, vocational training offers are reviewed on a regular basis and modified if necessary.
Thus, in the second half of 2022, the State Secretariat for Training, Research and Innovation issued and approved a total of 44 new and revised professions: six in basic professional training and 38 in higher professional training.

SERI is responsible for issuing rules on basic and higher professional training
The Confederation, especially the SERIis responsible for issuing the ordinances on basic vocational training, for approving the regulations for the vocational exams (abbreviated EP) and the higher vocational exams (abbreviated EPS) as well as the teaching framework programs of the higher technical schools ( abbreviated as SSS), as well as the recognition of the SSS training cycles and post-diploma studies.
While in basic vocational training the cantons are responsible for implementing and implementing them, in higher vocational training these tasks are the responsibility of professional organizations or higher specialized schools.
Every five years, SERI checks all basic vocational trainings in relation to economic, technological, ecological and educational developments and, if necessary, makes the necessary changes.
The higher vocational training courses and qualifications are also regularly reviewed and adapted to new developments.
