The artist Fabian Oefner shared in an ad hoc video new details on the intimate meaning of the project "Space Time Memory”, made in the name and on behalf of Lamborghini in collaboration with the US company NFT-PRO.
"I'm a child of the space age, so I grew up with images of the Shuttle launching in the middle of the night."
“For me, this work is not just about a car, it's also about memories. This project is not the mere decomposition of a car, it also concerns the Space Key, a carbon fiber key that connects two worlds: the digital world and the physical one. That's what excites me."
The physical work of art, the SpaceKey, contains elements of carbon fiber that Lamborghini sent to the International Space Station in 2020, as part of a joint research program.
These items in carbon fiber, on which was engraved a unique QR code, refer to the digital component: a series of five photographs of an Ultimae heading towards the stars
The images depict the car lifting off the ground at five different times, within seconds of each other.
"The components, the engine, the transmission, the suspension and hundreds of nuts and bolts shoot off the chassis of the car like the combustion flame of a rocket."
And yet: “So when I thought about where to start, how to create an incredible work and show it in a way never seen before, I came up with the idea of a car rocketed into the sky. It is a metaphysical work, because Ultimae in Latin means 'last', but also 'farthest'.
“The Moon is the farthest place man has gone. This is why the car points towards the moon, because it is the place that stimulates our imagination. We are all explorers and love to discover new worlds”.
