In light of the role of global leader played by the production center in the heart of Emilia Romagna region, first in the world for the large-scale production of innovative products without combustion, the activities carried out by the plants of Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna will be consolidated and integrated thanks to the birth of the new hub, which supports PMI's global R&D center in Neuchâtel, in Switzerland.
It is a new pole for the advanced training of skills related to Industry 4.0, dedicated to the development of industrial skills, with a particular focus on training and professionalisation, technology transfer and open innovation, applied research and the university-company relationship.
In fact, the Center was born as an open system, whose activities will be aimed at the people of Philip Morris and its supply chain, as well as at the entire economic, entrepreneurial, education and training world, at a regional and national level.
It is the most advanced hub, among others of the same company, in terms of industrialisation, process innovation, engineering and sustainability.
It is a flagship for the leading tobacco company, as it was born way back in 1847 in the distant United States of America.
The new Center of Crespellano, a municipality of 10.117 inhabitants in the Municipality of Valsamoggia, in the metropolitan city of Bologna, is part of a broader investment plan for theItaly equal to around 600 million euros in three years, linked to new products without combustion, with an estimated direct, indirect and induced employment impact of around 8.000 jobs along the supply chain.
Five videos narrate this excellence, from the quality of the work offered to employees to the characteristics of the infrastructures and production processes, up to the relationship with local institutions.
